Meikle Tòir The Sherry One is a peated whisky made at GlenAllachie Distillery using mainland peat from St. Fergus. The whisky was peated to 35ppm and benefited from a lengthy fermentation period of 160 hours to create a fruity, complex spirit that could stand up to ageing in sherry casks, which is exactly what it did. Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry puncheons, to be exact, following an initial maturation in American oak bourbon barrels. One for fans of smoke and sherry.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, Meikle Toir begins its journey in the rugged landscapes of Scotland, where the finest barley is harvested and malted with precision. The whisky is then distilled in traditional copper pot stills, allowing for the development of complex flavors and aromas that are synonymous with the region’s distilling expertise.
