This is the first in the popular Blood Oath series, produced by Luxco in Bardstown, KY using bourbon sourced from neighboring distilleries.
“A spicy, woody bourbon, Blood Oath Pact No. 1 Bourbon is a made with three different whiskies, including one with a high rye mash bill, creating green, peppery spice. Aromas of vanilla, rye spice, pepper, maple caramel and chocolate mingle with oak and apricot on the nose. The palate offers notes of cocoa, vanilla, honey, tobacco and orange, before a smooth, dry finish with plenty of peppery rye spice and dried apricot notes.”
A masterful union of well-bred bourbons. The first, a spicy bourbon with a mash bill favoring rye, barrel aged for a subtle woodiness. This, artfully braided with a smooth, but never soft, wheated bourbon of memorable curves. Finally, a more experienced, oaky bourbon with a rye-based mash. None overpowers the other, agreeing to co-exist in harmony.
